ABOUT MY WORK
Nature and travels are feeding my inspiration. The landscapes and artistic expressions of people in distant lands find their way in my photographs as well as in my printed work. Most of my images convey a sense of spiritual and temporal transportation and transformation by emphasizing abstract and color elements within the compositions, giving them a soft, painterly quality. It is the hidden life within each picture to be discovered by the viewer, each time a new discovery.
I found great satisfaction working in the Hymalayas. All Tibetan lives revolve around Buddhism. Nothing is frivolous in their art. Pictures and depictions of Buddha are done in a proscribed stylized manner. This struck a chord within me.
Closer to home, the quiet majesty of the American life and landscape, Wisconsin, Arizona and the underestimated East coast have also an indelible mark on my print work.
All photographs are printed digitally on archival watercolor paper using pigment inks that have a minimum of 100 years of life. All media, inks, paper and framing use archival, museum quality materials.
Etchings, collagraphs, serigraphs and/or combinations of the techniques were done on a hand etching press. Because of the nature of the process, there may be some minute differences within an edition. Archival pigment inks and all rag papers were used to insure permanence. The editions are signed and numbered on the front of the print.
Prices for photographs are determined by the size of the work.
Etchings and collagraphs are priced individually.
All prices available upon request.
